We will be there and have daily updates starting Friday, as well as photo's. The ABA Fall Nationals took place this weekend and what a long, weekend it was. To start things off, it had rained here in Sunny So Cal for the past few weeks on and off and the ABA was watching the weather. When they arrived in Del Mar, CA on Monday last week, they got right to work and built another great ABA track. Well unfortunately, Tuesday night, the rains came down and really didn't stop until mid day Thursday. This made for a mess and the dirt would never ever dry out but the ABA did the best job they could, working until the wee hours of the night to make the best of it. Friday practice was canceled and there was a lot of sitting around and sight seeing going on Friday, in the hot sun. As the Pros hit the track on Saturday, it was evident that the racing was going to be slow and on the ground, as the mud and ruts kept the action on the ground. even with the slow track, the Pros still got to dazzled the crowd with there power and determination to make the last regular ABA National of the season one to remember. Read the full report on how the guys did. Dale Holmes can add 4 Cross Specialist to his list of NBL Grands and Worlds specialist now, as he made one of the toughest main events in the sport of Mountain biking this past weekend in Livigno, Italy at the UCI World Cup 4 Cross race. Dale placed 4th and was stoked about making the finals, one that Michael Prokop won, with Brian Lopes taking 2nd. Read more about it on Dale Holmes. com. With a few weekends off, the BMX'er are getting much needed rest just before the ABA Gold Cup Season takes off. Randy Stumpfhauser currently sits #3 in the ABA in 20" while he leads the points chase in 24". Kyle Bennett sits in 5th in AA, Dale Holmes at #8, and Brandon Meadows in 11th, and Cristian Becerine in 12th. The next bunch of races will be interesting, as all the top AA's will be there and make it for a great end of season title chase in the ABA. The NBL Grands are over and Kyle Bennett has won the #1 Pro Elite title and Randy Stumpfhauser has won the NBL #1 Pro Elite Cruiser title. After one of the most exciting Pro #1 points chases in the NBL, Kyle wins the Elite Pro Main event and passes 5riders for the NBL title. Double A Riders in the main include Randy, Kyle, Cristian, and Dale. In the Pro Cruiser title chase, Randy took home the year end title and the days win. Look for the full report here. Below is a picture of Randy and Kyle in one of the Pro Open moto's.
Jamie Staff was unfairly disqualified in the semi final in the Kerin. It was said that he made an aggressive move while in the lead, yet no riders complained. He was for sure robbed of an Olympic medal and it was big news in England. Jamie is still a hero to all of us here at Double A Marketing. In just one day, Jamie Staff will do the BMX world proud as he will compete in his first event at the Olympics. Jamie will kick things off in the Kilo. Here is a shot of him training in Athens. He is the first behind the pace bike.

Lead to this. Jamie Staff 2004 UCI Keirin World Champion!!!
05.28.04 -- Melbourne, Australia, Reported by British Cycling: After Great Britain was given a wild card entry for the Keirin event at the Melbourne World Championships, Jamie Staff took on the best the World had to offer in this event and struck Gold. After winning, Jamie could not believe that he had won the Championship of the event and won himself a rainbow jersey of his own after winning the 2002 Team Sprint title with Craig Maclean and Chris Hoy. Jamie had started the World CHampionship competition by winning his opening heat and in the next round finished third, showing not only world class speed on the bike, but much better tactical awareness. After the final, Jamie was swamped by hugs from team mates and management and the BMX World Champion from 1996 is now having to rethink his desire to retire after the Olympics where he is expected to represent the country in the Keirin. His win also gave Great Britain the option of fielding a second rider in the Olympic Keirin event. Part of the motivating factor in winning the title is that Jamie is sharing a room at the team hotel with Chris Hoy who gold last night in the Kilometre. Seeing Chris's rainbow jersey gave Jamie the determination that after the loss in the Team Sprint where he won bronze, that he would give this his best shot, listening to advice from his GB manager and coach and coming out covered in glory. Way to go Jamie!!! Summer and Spring time mean a lot of racing.
