Dale
Holmes

At
the age of 9, Dale Holmes never would have imagined how reading
a simple BMX magazine at School would forever change his life's path.
Dale has become one of the top BMX riders in the history of the sport
winning a ton of titles along the way, with World Championships,
ABA National
Titles, countless English National titles all earned in BMX,
Dale is now attacking the Mountain bike world and already has won
a British 4X
championship.
Being
one of the most consistent riders in BMX as well as one of the most
outspoken, Dale is always the talk of the pits and is for sure one
of the most colorful riders in the sport of BMX. Love him or not,
Dale makes bmx his life and make BMX a lot of fun and enjoyable.
We are sure proud to have him here in the USA and on the Double A

Double A: Describe yourself.
Dale: An
English laid back, half way cool, not bad looking guy for 32!
Double A: What is your typical non-racing day like?
Dale:Well,
if im not racing or training, I like to chill out at home,
work on stuff around
my house, hang out with friends,read,ride to the beach on my bike
and relax in the sun.
Double A: How did you get involved in racing?
Dale:
Saw a magazine at School back in 1980 got a bike and never
looked
back.
Double A: What was your first big race win?
Dale:My
first big win was a UK National in 1985 Slough England
I won 13 expert it felt so good. 
Double A: What is in your training schedule?
Dale:Normal
stuff, Gym, sprints, road bike, trails and track, same
as most.
Double A: What is your favorite part of being a Pro?
Dale:Not
getting up for work on a Monday morning.
Double A: Where do you ride?
Dale:I
ride in the Huntington Beach area. Sheep Hills
when its running, Orange YMCA. In the UK, Derby
and Chesterfield
are my local spots when im over there. 
Double A: Who do you ride with? Dale:In
the UK anyone whose around my friends Daniel, Oggy,Marco,Martin
Murray, the Batey brothers, Geth Shooter.
In the US Christian Becerine, Thomas Allier, Christophe Leveque,Todd
Lyons, Neal Wood, Robbie Miranda anyone that's in town visiting.
Double A: What other sports are you interested in? Who is you favorite
athlete/team?
Dale:I
like all types of cycling, Mountain biking, watch motor sports,
F!, Supercross/Motocross all the cool stuff. I enjoy
Football, my team I support is Manchester United when there on
TV. I like David Beckam, he's pretty cool.
Double A: If you could be a pro in another sport, who would it be?
Dale:
Golf, Darts, Football.
Double A: What would be your dream job after BMX?
Dale:Work
in the Industry some way, trainer maybe, something
that keeps me around, but with
less traveling.
Double A: Who did you look up to when you first started racing?
Dale:In
the UK. Tim March, Andy Ruffell, Geth Shooter. US Pistol Pete,
Greg Hill, any top US Pro really.
Double A: What drives you to be a top Pro?
Dale:
enjoy the competition and know its all down to me whatever
happens,
I love the feeling
of winning and love hanging out with my fellow AA buddies.
Double A: Do you have any superstitions?
Dale:Just
to stretch my legs before I get on the gate, maybe its more
off a habit now.
Double A: Tell us one thing about yourself that not many people know.
Dale:Im
a neat and tidy freak, when people come to my house there
surprised how clean and tidy i keep things im pretty organized
too
Double A: What is your favorite bike part?
Dale:A
good set of wheels always looks nice.
Double A: What is something that you are really good at other than
BMX?
Dale:Being
on time.
Double A: How are you different from the other Pros?
Dale:
I've pulled more girls than most of them over the years! 
Double A: Describe your riding style. Dale:I
can get from A to B without to much trouble. I do think my
pedaling style is OK, guess I need
to turn the bars more in the air though!
Double A: Why do you have your own website?
Dale:Just
for fun. Its a cool feeling when someone tells me they read
the site and enjoy
it.
