2006 UCI BMX World Championships

Sao Paulo, July 27-29

This years Worlds was one of the best in recent years. A great track was built and refined for the best racers in the world and we all got to witness some of the best racing in the world.

Kyle and Cristian were in the same moto.

The semi's was where a lot of action went down, as well as some of the top racers. Kyle Bennett and Cristian Becerine were both in the same semi and in 2nd and 3rd going into the 2nd turn. Unfortunately, they both went down and didn't make the main event. Also going down in the other semi was Bubba Harris and Robert De wilde.

Randy Stumpfhauser did go on to win his semi and was ready to do battle in the Elite men's main event.

Cristian was glad to be back on the track.

As the main gate dropped, Stumpy took the lead and held off the worlds top racers for 98% of the track. Unfortunately, Randy took the last turn a bit awkward and lost some speed while at the same time Javier Colombo rode the lap of his life, passing Randy just feet before the finish line. Randy finished up 2nd and Javier is the new World Champ.
