ABA Volunteer Nationals February 9-10

Round 3 of the ABA 2002 Pro tour was held this past weekend in Shelbyville, TN. Cold weather outside kept the racing inside a little damp and slippery, but a good track designed by the ABA made it bearable with hot racing action inside. Here is how the Double A Marketing riders who attended finished up in the main events.

Randy Stumpfhauser had another great weekend. On Saturday, Stumpy took the win in Pro open and placed 3rd in Pro Cruiser. On Sunday, Randy stood on the podium in AA with a 2nd place and a first in Pro Cruiser. Randy also raced Pro Open and finished up 8th overall. Looks like Randy is having another great race season. Jamie Staff was looking strong on Saturday, until a crash slowed him down a bit and he finished 4th in AA and 7th in Pro Open. Jamie didn't race on Sunday due to injury, but he will be back in time for the next race. Wade Bootes made his 2002 American race debut this weekend, but it didn't go exactly as he wanted it to. A slippery track kept Wade out of the AA main on Saturday and 7th overall on Sunday. Wade looks forward to racing in Oklahoma in a few week to redeem himself and get back onto the podium.
