ABA
US Nationals San Bernardino, CA
Southern
California was the birthplace for BMX and each year when the ABA holds
the US Nationals, its a showcase of some of the best BMX racing in the
world. AA Pro racing has stepped up another level and the fans got to
see first hand how fast Pro racing really is. Here is how the Double
A Marketing riders finished up over the weekend.
Randy Stumpfhauser has had a incredible few weeks. Last week, Randy
had a huge win at the NBL National in Las Vegas, then when the new ABA
paper and BMX Plus hit the mail boxes, he was on the cover of both.
Now this weekend, Randy was one of the fastest riders on the track in
San Bernardino, and on Sunday, he took a decisive win in AA Pro. Saturday
stated off looking like Randy was going to have a top finish in AA,
until a crash in the 2nd and 3rd round of main events put a huge damper
on the overall for the day. Randy would finish off 6th for the day.
In Pro Cruiser this weekend, Randy finished 2nd both days. Randy's sponsors
include GT Bicycles, Hyundai, ODI, Kenda Tires, Tangent, Sun Rims, Bombshell
Forks, Fly Racing, Time Pedals, SRAM, Powerbar, CTI Knee Braces, Tool
Shed, SDG, DC, Easton, S & M, Fox Riders Co Clothing, Cyto Sport/Cyto
Max, and BMXpros.com
Brandon Meadows has been riding extremely well the past month and San
Bernardino was the best race of the season for him. On Saturday, Brandon
had a strong run in AA Pro and looked to be one of the main players
during the day. As the mains unfolded, Brandon got caught up in a crash,
keeping him to 4th overall for the day in AA Pro. On Sunday, Brandon
rode well again, this time doing one better, with a 3rd overall in AA
Pro. Brandon recently decided to race Pro Cruiser, to make up for the
loss of Pro Open in the ABA and this weekend went well for his first
time on the 24. Brandon placed 3rd both days in Pro Cruiser. Brandon's
sponsors include Specialized, Fly Racing, Tangent, Thomson, Shimano,
Cyto Sport/Cyto Max, Sun Ringle, Powerbar, and BMXpros.com.
Cristian Becerine is one of the fastest AA Pros down the first strait
aways. This was showcased at the US Nationals, as he was consistently
out front of the AA Pro pack, and easily made it into the AA Main on
Saturday. After the first two mains, Cristian looked like he was going
to take the overall win, as he won the 1st two rounds and holeshotted
the 3rd Pro main. Unfortunately, Cristian hit a part of the disintegrating
first turn, and found himself on the ground, scrambling for his bike
and unfortunately loosing the overall win by 1 point. Cristian wound
up 2nd overall for the day. Cristian's sponsors include Crupi, O'Neal,
Answer, UGP, ODI, Sun Ringle, Shimano, Tool Shed, Powerbar, BMXpros.com,
Cyto Sport/Cyto Max, and Thomson Seat Posts.
