ABA
Midwest Nationals Rockford, IL
Round
8 of the 2007 ABA Pro Series headed to the Rock this past weekend. The
Rockford track is one of, if not the best BMX Racing tracks in the USA
for high speed racing action. Rockford has always been smooth, but this
year, the track operators outdid themselves. With a silky smooth surface
and glass like paved berms, the track without dust is highly rated by
the Pros. Beautiful weather, was interrupted for a brief moment on Saturday,
but other than that, the Hot and sticky weather emulated the race action.
Here is how the BMXpros.com Pros finished up:
Randy Stumpfhauser has had the best ABA season of his
Pro Career in 2007 and he holds a huge lead in the Pro Points chase.
Randy went into Rockford eager to build his lead and on the way had
time to do a clinic on Wednesday at the track with teammate Eric Rupe.
30 riders were excited to get tips for Stumpy and were even more excited
to see him race AA Pro on Saturday. Well, Stumpy didn't let his fans
down, as he impressed everyone at the Rock, as he took the AA Pro win.
On Sunday, Randy was once again on the Podium, this time with a 3rd.
After this weekend, Randy has a firm control of the ABA Pro title points
chase. Randy's sponsors include GT Bicycles, Kenda, SINZ Racing, ODI,
Tangent, Sun Rims, Bombshell, Fly Racing, Powerbar, CTI Knee Braces,
OGIO, SDG, SRAM, Cyto Sport, and BMXpros.com.
Kyle Bennett has flat out impressed every Pro on the
tour, with his incredible comeback from major knee surgery. Kyle looks
like he never missed a day as his super fast first strait away speed
was showcased in Rockford. On Saturday, it was Kyle giving Stumpy a
run for the win, finishing just behind him in 2nd. On Sunday, Kyle looked
faster than ever, and finished with a huge Pro double, winning AA Pro
and Pro Open. This guy is just unbeatable. Kyle is looking to carry
this momentum towards his quest at the NBL title in a few weeks, as
he will be one of the top Pros in South Park. Kyle's sponsors include
Free Agent, KHS, Fly Racing, Bombshell, www.bmxtraining.com, Sun Rims,
Shimano, UGP, Kenda, Thomson, S & M bars, ODI, ORP, Powerbar, Cyto
Sport, and BMXpros.com.
Cristian Becerine also has had an increasable season,
as he currently leads the NBL Pro title chase and sits in 4th in the
ABA Pro Points battle. On Saturday, Cristian took the lead in the Pro
Open main event and was never contested on his way to another win. On
Sunday, Cristian settled for a 2nd in Pro Open just behind Kyle and
a 6th in AA Pro. Cristian is gearing up for South park, looking to hold
off a hard charging field of Elite Pros on his way to his first NBL
#1 Pro title. Cristian's Sponsors include: Free Agent, Answer, Kenda,
THE Products, ODI, Sun Ringle, Shimano, Powerbar, Cyto Sport, OGIO,
Oakley, Thomson Seat Posts, and BMXpros.com
Joey Bradford wasn't in Rockford, as he is in Europe
competing in a few events, as well as putting on some clinics. If you
