ABA Sooner Nationals, Guthrie, OK
Race 2 of the ABA 2004 Pro series was held this past weekend in
the Lazy E Arena, in Guthrie, Oklahoma. With the season just
kicking
off, it is always interesting to see who is on form early in the
season, and it seems that the Double A Marketing guys were prepared
once again. With the Sooner fans yelling for the favorite guys
throughout the weekend, the Double A Marketing guys had a great
weekend. Here
is how they finished up.
Kyle Bennett continued his winning ways from Reno in Guthrie, as
on Saturday he once again took the top honors in the AA Pro class.
This
time with a visor and his new Answer gear, Kyle looked as smooth
as his riding style. On Sunday, Kyle just missed winning AA again,
taking
home a 2nd place. Kyle's sponsors include Free Agent, KHS, Answer,
Sun Ringle, UGP, Truvativ, Profile, Powerbar, BMXpros.com,
Randy Stumpfhauser looked comfortable on his GT Ultra Box, as he
raced it to a podium spot in AA on Saturday, taking 3rd overall.
In the Cruiser
Class, the 2003 ABA #1 Pro took home another win. On Sunday, it was
business as usual for the UCI Cruiser world Champ in the cruiser
class, as he once again won. In AA, Stumpy placed 7th and put his
GT in all
4 pro mains. Randy's sponsors include GT Bicycles, Hyundai, IRC Tires,
Shimano, Fox Racing, Sun Ringle, AC, Thomson Seat Posts, Powerbar,
CTI, BMXpros.com, and Smith Eyewear.
Cristian Becerine was one of the fastest pro at the ABA opener in
Reno and he continued his fast pace racing in Guthrie. A crash in
the AA
Motos early on Saturday kept him out of the main, and then a crash
in the Pro Open main kept him to back 7th. On Sunday, Cristian was
looking for a win in the Pro Open main, but was just held back to
a 3rd. Look for "Fez" to be back on the podium come his next
race. Cristian's sponsors include Crupi, O'Neal, Answer, UGP, Sun Ringle,
Powerbar, BMXpros.com, and Thomson Seat Posts.
Brandon Meadows flew out to Guthrie after a week of riding at Woodward
West and was looking for bigger jumps that what Guthrie had to offer.
Brandon just missed out of making the main events on Saturday. Sunday
wasn't much better for the 2003 X-Games Gold Medalist, but he will
be back aboard his Gold Specialized S-Works bike. Brandon did get
to meet a bunch of his fans and show off is new bike. Brandon's sponsors
include Specialized, Tangent, Sun Ringle, Powerbar, No Fear, and BMXpros.com
