NBL Gator Nationals Avon Park, Florida

Round #2 of the 2004 NBL National Pro Series events was held just at the end of this years Traditional Spring Break in Central Florida, in Avon Park. The NBL and especially Florida are know for some great BMX tracks, and Avon Park was no exception. With a slightly longer than normal track with some wide open strait away and turns, as well as technical rhythm section, the track would give the riders who have been putting in the time at the track and the gym a chance to let their hard work pay off. The Double A Marketing riders who made the long trip to Florida were also looking forward to the following weekend of racing in Sarasota, FL. This would also give them the time to hang out in the sun and fun of Florida. Here are how the riders did in Avon Park:

Kyle Bennett looked as fast as ever in Avon park and he showed his speed and skills in both the main events he was in winning them both. On Saturday, it was Pro Open and Sunday it was AA, but both times he just walked away with the win. Randy Stumpfhauser once again wowed the crowds with his consistency and making all 4 main events of the classes he entered this weekend. On Saturday it was another win in the Pro Cruiser class along with a 3rd in AA Pro. Sunday didn't go as well, as a bad crash in the Pro Cruiser main event kept him down but not out as he finished 6th and then 7th in AA Pro. Dale Holmes sat in the #2 spot in Pro points just before Avon Park, so he was looking to be in the main both days and stay consistent in the NBL overall pro points chase. As he decided to race AA only each day, it paid off, as he was in the AA main both days. On Saturday, it was a rough run for Dale as he finished up 8th, abut he came back on Sunday to better his result with a 6th for the day. Cristian Becerine has been impressive on the BMX circuit for the past few years, and 2004 is already shaping up to e another great year for him. On Saturday, Cristian was in the AA Pro main and finished 6th. Cristian was also in the Pro Open main event, where he finished 7th.
