Wade Bootes and Thomas Allier make the Mountain Cross Final at the Norba Mountain cross opener!!

This past weekend, Wade Bootes and Thomas Allier headed off to East Troy, WI for round #2 of the Norba 2002 schedule.
With the first mountain cross event of the season, after winning the 2002 Norba National Title, Wade Bootes was looking to add to his impressive list of accomplishments. Wade also was scheduled to race the downhill here, but after dislocating his shoulder just a week ago in Slovenia, it was questionable if he was even going to race any event this weekend. Wade once again proved to be a tough competitor as he battled the pain, and went through with both events. Wade started off with and incredible run in Mountain Cross as he was looking super fast in practice but rain had fell during qualifying making it even harder for wade to negotiate the course, as it was hard for him to hold on in the bad conditions and he qualified 12th overall. On Race day, Wade was ready, and he was blazing through all the qualifiers all the way to the final event, where he placed and incredible 2nd overall. Wade then went onto place 12th overall in the downhill, and incredible feat on its own, but paired with his 2nd in Mountain Cross made for one of the best Norba weekends of Wades career. Thomas Allier made his 2nd MTB race apperance of the year, but this time it was his first time at the Mountian Cross circuit. Thomas qualified very well, but his true greatness shined as he won every event he was in, up to the finals for the night. Thomas had knocked off a lot of the top riders, and showed his BMX skills to the entire MTB community. In the Final, Thomas was up against the best in Mountian Cross and was battling with Brain Lopes for the lead in the first turn, but wasn't able to get the best line, instead he was bumped off the course, leaving him to pick himself up and place 4th for the day. Thomas will be heading off with Wade to Round #3 of the Norba Tour to West Virginia this upcoming weekend.
