ABA
Silver Dollar Nationals Reno, NV
The
ABA season kicked off this past weekend with the traditional event in
Reno, NV. With a new format for the ABA for the first time, the Pro
Series tour is limited to 13 weekends, so each event will count that
much more for the Pros to score points towards the overall title. Kyle
Bennett wants the ABA #1 title to add to his list of #1 NBL Pro and
UCI World Champion. This could be the year for Kyle, but 28 other pros
wanted to say otherwise in Reno. Here is how Kyle and Dale Holmes, the
only 2 Double A Marketing riders in attendance, finished up:
Kyle Bennett just doesn't slow down, no matter what
time of the year it is. Once again, Kyle won AA again during the race
weekend, as well as Pro Open. On Saturday, Kyle was the only one to
give the AA winner Bubba Harris a run for the win and Kyle just missed
out finishing 2nd. Kyle came back later that day to take the win at
the first Pro Open event of 2006. On Sunday, it was all Kyle, as he
won from start to finish, all 3 main events. Kyle has started off this
season with win in AA/Elite at both the ABA and NBL opener, letting
all the AA's know this is going to be the year of Kyle Bennett. Kyle's
sponsors include Free Agent, KHS, Kenda, Sun Ringle, UGP, Thomson, Utopia
Eyewear, THE Products, S & M bars, ATI, Shimano, Powerbar, Cyto
Sport, and BMXpros.com.
Dale Holmes made his return to the USA racing scene, as he
had been concentration on the European tour for the last part of 2005.
Dale came out looking strong and not showing any signs of slowing down.
On Saturday, Dale was in the Pro Open main event and finished up 5th.
On Sunday, it seemed that Dale was fully back into the swing of things
and was in both the AA and Pro Open main event, where he finished 4th
in AA and 8th in Open. Dale's sponsors include Free Agent, KHS, Utopia
Eyewear, Kenda, Sun Ringle, Thomson, Troy Lee Designs, S & M bars,
THE Products, Shimano, Powerbar, Cyto Sport, and BMXpros.com.
Brandon Meadows made the trip up to Reno to thank his
friends and fans for helping contribute to his injury fund. Brandon,
who broke his femur just a week and a half ago, was looking good, was
very positive, and cant wait to get back on his bike and onto the AA
podium. We wanted to say thanks to all who contributed to Brandon, and
a special thanks to his sponsors for 2006 for their support - Tangent,
MacNeil, Kenda, Utopia Eyewear, Sun Ringle, Cyto Sport, Shimano, and
Fly Race Wear. There will be more to come as Brandon gets ready to get
back on track.
