ABA Silver Dollar Nationals Reno, Nevada

The 2005 ABA Pro National series kicks of each year in Reno, NV. In a area that is prone to cold weather and harsh conditions, the weather has never been that great of an effect on the race or getting there. This year, with harsh winter rain and snow storm, it was a difficult trip to the Reno area, but the riders that did make it there wanted to start off the new season with some good results. The crew of Double A Marketing Pros did just that, and here is how they finished up for the weekend.

Randy Stumpfhauser thought the short drive to Reno was going to be no big deal a few weeks back, so he passed on flying in. The week before Reno, with bad winter storms and lots of snow, Randy put his trust in his Team Issued Hyundai Santa Fe to get him through the snow paced roads to Reno. Results? On Saturday, Stumpy had the same determination on the track as he did to just get to the race, and he finished up 2nd in AA Pro. On Sunday, Randy once again finished 2nd in AA, giving him 2 strong results to start off the new ABA 05 Season. Randy also finished 2nd on Saturday and 1st on Sunday in Pro Cruiser. Brandon Meadows has been plagued with an injury that has kept him off the track since September, but he has put his off time to some good and a lot of intense training. On Saturday, Brandon looked like he had not missed a day of riding and was very impressive in AA Pro, with a 3rd place finish. Christophe Leveque has been putting a lot of time in on his GT Ultra Box and trying to get back up to his potential. On Sunday, Christophe put one more notch in his comeback, as he finished 4th for the day in AA Pro. Leveque is well in his way, ahead of schedule to bring home a AA pro win in the near future. Dale Holmes was the big AA Pro winner in Reno just last season, and Dale was having visions of adding the ABA Opener Specialist to his list. Unfortunately, he was unable to bring home a AA win, but he did finish up 6th in AA On Sunday.
